Geoduck Can

A Geoduck Can is a home made piece of tool when digging non-commercially for geoducks. The can is made out of a three foot section of commercial heating/Air conditioning ductwork, which is offered at commercial HVAC equipment supply houses.

The finished can is pressed into the sand at a geoduck burrow. Since the clam is 3' deep or so, it is crucial to use the geoduck can to avoid the mud walls from caving in while digging. This helps to avert injury to the clam as well as to the digger's hands.
